Description
The Western Red Cedar is known for its immense size, growing in temperate rain forests found on the West Coast of Canada. This photo was taken in the Ancient Cedar Forest near McBride, British Columbia. Like other conifers, it has shallow roots rather than deep tap roots, meaning that they are prone to toppling over in wind storms.
