About me
Hello/Bonjour!
My name is Denise Lauzon Dempsey and I am a naturalist and photographer who wants to encourage everyone to take the time to appreciate and learn about the natural environment that surrounds us, whether it be in a urban area or a more isolated natural area. Originally from the Georgian Bay area of Ontario, I have had the opportunity to visit and photograph many areas of Canada from my home in Edmonton, Alberta.
While studying Biological Sciences at university, I became fascinated by invertebrates in particular and started doing macro photography in order to capture their fascinating adapations to the world around them. Since then I have worked in conservation education with children and adults alike, and my photography has evolved in terms of the subjects and creative approach in presenting them.
