Description
The New England Aster is a perennial plant which can grow upto 6 feet in height, in open areas such as fields. A fascinating point about this plant is that it actually has upto hundreds of flowers. What we think are the petals are actually individual flowers, called ray flowers. In the middle of these on the head are more individual flowers. Take a closer look at the picture to see the two types of flowers.
