Hello/Bonjour!

My name is Denise Lauzon Dempsey and I am a naturalist and photographer who wants to encourage everyone to take the time to appreciate  the natural environment that surrounds us, whether it be in your backyard, a local urban park, or a more isolated wetland or mountainous area. A Francophone originally from the Georgian Bay area of Ontario, I have had the opportunity to explore and photograph many beautiful natural areas of Canada from my home in Edmonton, Alberta.

While studying Biological Sciences at university, I became fascinated by invertebrates in particular and started doing macro photography to capture their fascinating adaptations. Since then I have worked in conservation education with children and adults alike, and my photography has evolved in terms of the subjects and my creativity in presenting them.
